Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her first Broadway role, she was her role in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor as well as director, has spent the bulk of her professional career working with well-known directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford will be next in the role of Kumail Nanjiani, as Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It premieres on the 22nd of November. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. As an Hulu Original, the film will be available on Disney DTC's platforms. It will be released in 2023, March. Ashford returns to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The same team that created Hamilton producer Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail will be at the leading the show. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons in the CBS hit comedy B Positive. The show was developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role in the role of Essie. Additional Broadway credits for Ashford include Sunday in the Park, as George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this role, she earned a Tony Award nomination. Born and raised in Denver Ashford is now dividing her time between Los Angeles and New York.
