Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. Audrey is the largest child among four children. The actress was inspired by her parents, a dentist and a teacher who were both teachers to pursue her passion for theatre. This was in contrast her earlier ambition to pursue a career as a primateologist since she adored monkeys. It was a quick rise for her to be a famous young actor. Before she began to pursue her acting career, Tautou took part in Jeunes Premiers an French talent search TV program which was a part of Canal+ in 1998. Also, she was awarded the The award for the Best Young Actress in her performance in the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Although she studied at in the Institut Catholique de Paris and attended church in her youth Tautou has stayed away from her religious upbringing and has stated that she's not Catholic. Along with her acting career, she pursued a modelling career. Also, she is the spokesperson for L'Oreal Mont Blanc & Chanel and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a passion and she recently exhibited her work at the Arles festival with the name Superficial. Her photographs are largely about fame and celebrity. The exhibit also includes a collection of self portraits in addition. Audrey Tautou's worldwide recognition and popularity exploded after her role in the film as Amelie Poulain's main actress in the film Le Fabuleux Destin of Amelie Poulain. Amelie has been a box office hit internationally and has been lauded at numerous award festivals around the globe. The film is still the top-grossing French language film to date in the US. Following this massive success, Tautou went on to star in many films including British dramatics, such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
