Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at the Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi who was later her Romanian gymnastics coach at the time she was just six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time in the national junior championships. She finished 13th. The following year she was crowned champion. In 1972, at a meet of communist countries juniors before the Olympics, she won three medals of gold. In 1973 and 1974, she became the junior champion in all aspects. In 1975, she won four golds and one silver medal in her debut senior international contest. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. The year was 1976 when she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympics. She also became the first woman in history to dismount the bars in parallel with a double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager, Carol Wayne began working in the entertainment field by performing in the form of figure skater. With her brother Nina Wayne she was part of a show that traveled called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her career in the entertainment business when she was in her teens. She began her career as figure skater performing with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show known as Ice Capades. The shows were ice skating performances that were performed to music from the stage.
